National Album Day 2023 to celebrate all things 90s!
National Album Day (NAD) will return for its sixth year next month, to once again celebrate and promote the art of the album!
Held on Saturday, October 14th, this years theme will honour both the 75th anniversary of the LP format, and all things 90s, with projects that defined the decade available to purchase from retailers across the UK and on NAD itself. Organisers of the annual event also say they
Presented in association with Bowers & Wilkins and BBC Sounds, artists including Eternal, S Club, Melanie C, Dannii Minogue, Wu-Tang Clang, Lighthouse Family and Stereophonics will all re-release versions of their most classic and beloved records to coincide with the annual event in the hopes of “uniting the music community and celebrating the meaningful impact an album can make”.
Ahead of next months festivities music icons Gabrielle, Declan McKenna, Tricky and Nuno Bettencourt have been announced as this year’s NAD artist ambassadors.

Since its launch back in 2018, National Album Day has been supported by a broad range of artist ambassadors, including Kylie Minogue, Joy Crookes, Sharleen Spiteri, Lewis Capaldi, Mark Ronson, La Roux, Elbow, Paloma Faith, Blossoms, Alice Cooper, Novelist, Tom Odell, Mahalia, Toyah Willcox and Jazzie B.
Last year Franz Ferdinand, India Arkin, KSI, The Mysterines, Sam Ryder, and The Staves were the latest talents to add their voices as passionate advocates of the long player.
“With the album celebrating the iconic milestone of 75 years, it couldn’t be a more exciting time to delve into a decade so rich in musical heritage and culture,” Kim Bayley, chief executive of NAD said via a press release. “From giving birth to legendary genres to launching the careers of many much-loved artists, the 90s is a decade that continues to connect and bring joy to music lovers, young and old, to this day.”
